Religious Education
At Castle View Primary School, Religious Education (RE) is a valued subject which enables children to learn about different world beliefs, values and practices in an unbiased and safe learning environment. RE challenges stereotypes, misinformation and misconceptions about race, gender and religion. Our curriculum seeks to present religions and world views in all their richness and diversity. Children learn about a variety of different beliefs, traditions, customs and lifestyles in a sensitive and accurate way in order to encourage a positive attitude towards diversity, and directly links to our teaching of British values. All questions, views and opinions are treated with sensitivity and respect.
RE at Castle View Primary School is provided in line with statutory requirements. The RE syllabus is determined by the local Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE), which is responsible for producing the locally agreed syllabus for RE. At Castle View Primary School, we follow the Lancashire SACRE agreed syllabus.
